Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCONSTANT (STAN) GILLIS It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Stan Gillis on April 19, 2014 at the Foyer in Notre Dame de Lourdes, at the age of 106, with his family by his side. Stan will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his son Norman (Gloria), daughters Doreen (Ralph), Lucille (Aime), Denise (Joe), and daughter-in-law Phyllis, along with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Stan was predeceased by his wife, Georgina (2002), sons Guy (1969), Leo (1972), Donald (1998), and grandsons, Clifford (2001) and Maurice (2013), as well as his parents and brothers John (Corrie), Toney (Madeleine) and Alphonse (Martha). Stan was born in Riel, Netherlands. As a young man he immigrated to Canada where he met and married Georgina and together they settled down to raise their family of seven children. The last four and a half years of Stan's life were spent at the Foyer in Notre Dame de Lourdes. The family would like to express their appreciation for their amazing kindness and compassionate care given by the entire staff at the Foyer. Viewing, Prayers and Eulogy will be said at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 35-1st Avenue NW, Carman on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. with Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Father Lawrence Agorchukwu and Father Armand Le Gal officiating. Interment will take place in the Carman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foyer Notre Dame, Box 190, Notre Dame de Lourdes, MB R0G 1M0. So sorry to read about your dad. What a pleasant man. I enjoyed going to talk to him after all the birthday parties at the foyer, will miss him when I go back. Just too bad but We will just be arriving in Winnipeg from Mexico on Friday night. Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this sad time. Will try to keep in touch.
