Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN JOYCE PETURSSON (nee GOODMAN) June 21, 1930 - April 19, 2014 Peacefully, with her family at her side, Helen passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Helen was predeceased by her husband Philip, daughter Thora, and brothers Bob and Elmer. Mom will be remembered by daughter Beth Franklin (Gordon), sons David (Anna) and Mark (Tannis), brother Jon Goodman (Gail) and sister Lillian Whiteside. She will be missed by her grandchildren Kevin (Cheryl), Roger (Darcy), Heidi, Christine (Duncan), Michael (Mackenzie), and her six great-grandsons who knew her as Amma, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Helen enjoyed her 53 years residing in Charleswood having lived in the west end in her youth. She was active in golfing at Breezy Bend, curling at the Charleswood Curling Club and enjoyed many days at the cottage on Lake Winnipeg. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2:00 p.m., at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). Auntie Helen was a wonderful person, I honestly can't remember one time where she wasn't the most positive and uplifting person in the room. It was always happiness being around her and the whole Petursson Family! She will be missed so much, but never forgotten :) An inspiration to all around her. Love to you all!! I have so many fond memories of Auntie Helen and all the fun activities we shared with the Petursson family- making rullupylsa, the Unitarian camp at Hnausa and time spent at the Petursson cottage.
