Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY BRUCE HEWERTSON February 13, 1944 - April 18, 2014 With heavy hearts the family of Bruce Hewertson announce his passing, ending his battle and pain. He was a loving husband, father, papa, uncle, son and friend. His greatest pride was the family he leaves behind: his partner of 47 years, Lynne; daughter Kimberley (Glen), Tanner, Gregory, and Elaina; son Tom (Judy), Jack and Ben; daughter Deborah (Chris), Aura, Maggie, and Zachary. He was happiest outdoors, especially at Brereton Lake and Grand Beach. We created a lot of great memories and amazing experiences camping coast to coast. On Friday the 13th, 2009, on his 65th birthday, he earned his Black Belt in Karate. He was very active volunteering at the community club and the neighbouring schools. He worked at C.N.R. as an electrician for many years. The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Concordia for their excellent care and compassion for Bruce during his stay. A graveside ceremony will be held at Chapel Lawn, meeting at the funeral home on Monday, April 28 at 3:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Following the ceremony there will be a celebration of his life at the family home. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes a donation to a charity of your choice. "Loving every moment." I first met Bruce when he was an apprentice electrician in the maint. dept and further when he then worked along side with in the dept. I always found Bruce to be honest and straight forward with thoughts and actions. As his union rep. For many years Bruce was one bro. That always backed his fellow worker. Memories of Mr. Hewertson are flowing through my mind since hearing of his passing. One of them is of Kim and I sitting in the front seat of the car, heading to a regular appointment Kim had for her allergies. I remember sitting in the middle between Kim and Mr. Hewertson, when he looked over and said "Cathy, I can drive, can you please take your foot off the pedal." I looked down and my foot was on top of his foot as he was driving. He always had such a calm demeanour about him. He will be missed and always remembered by those that had the blessing to know him.
