He was a devoted and loving husband to his beloved Mary for 68 years, and a loving father to Jack (Dorothy Phillips), Al (Shirley Dioguardi), Dick and Jim (Elaine Logan); and proud grandfather to Jonathan (Amy Saini), David (Jenny Ashton), Caroline (Jason Begg-Smith), Michael (Lena Franco), Julia, Kate, Andrew, William and great- grandfather to Aneil and Mira Saini-Reimer, Allison Reimer and Charles and Philip Begg-Smith. Diedrich married Mary Voth (1920 2010) on January 11, 1942, and they spent many happy and fulfilling years together as parents and homemakers. Diedrich had a long, happy and productive life, filled with work, caring for his family and living life to the fullest measure, never shying away from a challenge or participation. I first met Mr. Reimer when I applied for a job as Clerk III in the Brandon Salvage Dept. His soft gentle voice somehow did not match this giant of a man, but soon put me at ease during the interview. I remember his wonderful sense of humour and his kind ways. What a pleasure to have worked for him while he was Manager of this Department. He always came across as a loving family man and what a wonderful man he was so i can fully understand how he will truly be missed by family, friends and former employees and co-workers. God bless you Deid Reimer, you left behind many wonderful memories and a wonderful legacy for all those that had the pleasure of knowing you. Our sincerest condolences to family and loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Uncle Died's family. There are many good memories of Reimer family gatherings and visits back & forth between Uncle Died & Aunt Mary's home and my parents Jake & Mary's home; lots of family history. In later years when we came back to Wpg for visits, it was always a pleasure to see Uncle Died & Aunt Mary. They were always welcoming and hospitable. - Posted by: BERNICE REIMER MCDONALD & DANIEL MCDONALD (NIECE ) on: Apr 26, 2014
