Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARION WATSON MCKINLAY February 20, 1928 - April 21, 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved "Auntie Mar", 86 years, at Health Sciences Centre - due to complication of a severe fall in her home. Marion was predeceased by parents Tom and Susie McKinlay, Uncle Davey McCutcheon and special friends Grace Ross, Renee Kelly-Barker, Jean Sterling and Shirley Monteith. Marion is survived by cousins Molly and Bobbie Hamilton of Clydebank, Scotland, Ann Smith of Paisley, Scotland, Kathy and Ronnie Collins of Whiterock, BC and her "Winnipeg" family of Donna Remillard; Cathy (Dale) Friesen, Ryan and Carly; David (Jo-Ann) Remillard; Cori (Paul) McCorquodale-Bauer, Kenton and Matthew; "Corky" McCorquodale (Noreen); Matthew (Francine) McCorquodale and Evelyn Rose; Duncan (Shelley) Ross; Amanda (Sean) Scaletta, Simone and Olivia; Tiffany (Andy) Schellenberg, Hailey, Abigail and Mia. Marion worked at Eatons of Canada in the Mail Order Centre for 25 years, as well as National Lamp for many years. "Auntie Mar" enjoyed travelling "far and wide" in her younger years and loved to "tootle" around the province and city in her car. She also enjoyed reading and looked forward to "lunch with the girls", weekly hair appointments with Michelle and Shelley, being on the board of Ashbury Place Seniors Group, and loved visiting with "the family" and all the "wee ones", and going to Tims for a cheese biscuit or the occasional toasted cheese bagel. The family would sincerely like to express thanks to Riverside Lions Senior Residence, especially Elizabeth, Elva, Phillipe and "Liz", and all the wonderful staff for the fabulous care and kindness shown to Auntie Mar for the past two and a half years. Many thanks to the St. Boniface Emergency Department and the Health Sciences Centre, 3H, Gold Team, for their excellent care and compassion shown to Marion. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave., on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer Society of Winnipeg, or to a charity of your choice.
