JOYCE SCRIBNY (nee BESYK) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, baba and great-baba, Joyce Scribny, of Winnipeg Beach, MB, on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the age of 73. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her residence. Mom leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Debbie, grandchildren LeeAnne (Mark), Lance and great-grandchildren Kalika and Owen; daughter Leslie (Bill) and grandchildren Kevin, Kimmy, Kayla (Jared) and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Wally in 2007; her parents Nick and Jennie and many brothers, sisters and in-laws. Mom was born and raised in Winnipeg Beach and married Wally on February 1, 1958. While living in Winnipeg she worked for Food Systems for many years. Mom and Dad loved spending time at their cottage in Winnipeg Beach which they purchased in 1975. After Mom and Dad's retirement they moved there permanently where they built their dream home. Mom then worked for Ron Conners at the local pharmacy, then in 2008 she worked for her daughter Leslie at Ford's Groceries, which she loved and made many friends, who will miss her smiling face and her great personality. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. A private family interment will follow. Mom's honorary pallbearers will be Bill Ford, Art Gooley, Wayne Dola and her five grandchildren. Special thanks to CancerCare Manitoba and Dr. R.C Patel. The family extends their sincere thanks to Julie Kumps for her love, care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joyce may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

I've known Joyce only a few years, but every time we saw each other Joyce was always smiling and would always ask how I was doing. We shared many stories together and I always looked forward to seeing her. She will be missed as one as the most caring and happy lady at Ford's. My sympathy to the family,God bless you all. - Posted by: Coreen Robidoux (resident of winnipeg beach) on: May 03, 2014
