Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET HASTMAN On Thursday, May 1, 2014 with her family by her side, the Lord called Margaret home to Heaven. Left to mourn Margaret's passing are her husband Dennis; son Peter (Michelle and Riley); stepchildren Sheldon (Kim, Brooklyn, Logan), Scott, Sandy; grandchildren Megan, Jesse and Alexandra; as well as four brothers and their families. She was predeceased by her first husband Cornelius; sons Cornelius and Jacob; parents Jacob and Maria; and her brother George. Margaret was born November 27, 1944 in Cuauhtemoc, Mexico. She came to Canada in 1969 and made many sacrifices to ensure her sons would have a good life. She would always put others needs ahead of her own. In 1999 Margaret met the love of her life, Dennis. They were married in 2004 and had 15 joyous years together. She also had two more babies that loved her as much as she loved them, her dog Lexie and her cat Zena. They were loving and faithful companions. Most of her time was spent spoiling them. Margaret loved travelling and cooking. She also had a green thumb that made her yard the envy of the block. We will miss her dearly and always cherish our memories of her. On Saturday, May 10, 2014 Margaret's Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Buntain Chapel in Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave Street, with Pastor Bruce Logan, presider. A private family Interment will follow. As a child I remember the obvious strength Aunti Marge had, her powerful relationship with her children and her laugh that filled the room with joy. My last face to face memory with her, not long ago, was giving her a hug. She was sitting in my parents' livingroom, strong as ever. Her beautiful laugh still filling the room. Though her boys are grown...she was not sitting alone but surrounded by love from her husband who sat next to her. - Posted by: Sharon Lybbert () on: May 06, 2014

I remember the first time Margaret came to Canada with her husband Cornelius we had so much fun as she learned to drive a standard, she only hit a tree once or twice. when they returned to Mexico I thought I'd never see her again, but I have many wonderful memories - Posted by: Pete Friesen (Brother) on: May 03, 2014
