PETER KROWCHUK April 28, 1923 February 16, 2014 It is with great sorrow and sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother on February 16, 2014 at the Middlechurch Personal Care Home. He was born at the family farm in Dencross, MB. Peter leaves to mourn him his wife of 57 years, Joyce, daughter Jennifer and son Gerald, as well as grandchildren Daniel, David and Kayla Smerchonski. He is also survived by his sister Anne and brother John, as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Dora and three brothers, Harry, Steve and Michael and sister Mary. Peter was self-employed in his early years farming in the summer and cutting and hauling pulp to Pine Falls with horses and later with his truck. In 1953 he bought his truck and proceeded to haul gravel, for the various roads in the various municipalities. In 1956 he moved to Winnipeg to work at Cowin Steel and then to Acme Chrome Furniture until retirement in July of 1988. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street on May 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
