DEMETRIO SAN GABRIEL Demetrio "Demy" Garcia San Gabriel passed away peacefully, with his wife by his side, at the Riverview Health Centre May 1, 2014 at the age of 67. He is predeceased by his parents, Guillermo San Gabriel and Emerenciana San Gabriel, both from Plaridel Bulacan, Philippines Demetrio will be lovingly remembered by siblings: Pablo, Juan, Thelma, Nena, Faustino, Sixto, Gloria, Rosie and Ernesto; in-laws: Tuquib family; relatives and close family friends: Bambo, Walawala, Reyes, Garcia, Castillo, Mapue, Ilagan and Victorio families, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends. Demy was born in Bustos, Bulacan in 1946. He moved to Winnipeg in 1993 to settle with his wife, Nora. He retired at the age of 63. He spent his retirement years enjoying his passion for singing as an active member of the St. Edward's Church choir. Demy was a dedicated prayer warrior and very thoughtful and caring friend. Travelling was his passion. Demetrio loved to socialize with people all through his travels and had a wonderful sense of humour. Viewing will be on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Church on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Cemetery. We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the nurses and staff at the Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Unit for their unwavering and compassionate care.
