CONSTANCE THERESE LOUISE BRADET (née GAREAU) Entourée de ses enfants et petits-enfants, Constance Bradet s'est éteinte paisiblement le 7 mai 2014, à l'âge de 86 ans. Elle est prédécédée par son époux Laurent Bradet, ses parents Amanda et Léopold Gareau et ses deux frères Louis Gareau et Léopold Gareau. Elle laisse dans le deuil sa fille Michelle Bradet-Simpson (Tom) et ses garçons Guy (Rachel), Marc, Jacques (Joanne Coulombe) et Gilbert (Maureen Laigniel); ses petits-enfants Céleste Gagnon (Nicholas), Joël Bradet, Danielle Bradet et Samuel Bradet et son arrière petit-fils, Liam Gagnon. Elle laisse également dans le deuil sa petite soeur Flora Gareau, que nous remercions sincèrement pour tous les soins qu'elle a donnés à Maman ainsi que ses frères Treflé Gareau et Denis Gareau et sa belle-soeur Denise Gareau. Maman a dévoué sa vie à sa famille et à sa communauté. Elle était passionnée aux causes de justice sociale et à l'équité pour tous et charitable aux moins démunis. Elle s'est donnée pour sa communauté, entre autres, pour la Caisse populaire, l'école française, les associations de parents francophones et plusieurs autres organismes charitables et politiques. Maman était une femme de foi et membre de la chorale de l'église Précieux-Sang pendant plusieurs années. Elle fut aimée et appréciée par ses paroissiens. Elle a travaillé longuement pour la Société Radio-Canada où elle a noué plusieurs amitiés, tant des services francophones qu'anglophones. Malgré une condition d'arthrite assez sévère, cela n'a jamais empêché Maman de faire de beaux voyages. Elle faisait de merveilleux projets petits-points dont plusieurs membres de sa famille et amis chérissent. Depuis plusieurs années, la santé de Maman dégringolait. Malgré cela, Maman fut très heureuse au Manoir de la Cathédrale et y a pleinement jouit de ses dernières années (son "paradis sur terre"). A ses dernières heures, Maman nous a quitté avec dignité et honneur et disait à ses enfants et petits-enfants de vivre harmonieusement et de s'aimer les uns les autres. Pour elle, l'amour était le chemin de la vie. La famille remercie le personnel au 6e étage de l'hôpital Saint-Boniface pour les soins donnés à leur mère et remercie également le personnel du Manoir de la Cathédrale. La messe des funérailles aura lieu à 14h samedi le 10 mai en l'église du Précieux-Sang, 200, rue Kenny. She is predeceased by her husband Laurent Bradet, her parents Amanda and Léopold Gareau, and her two brothers Louis Gareau and Léopold Gareau. She leaves behind to mourn her daughter Michelle Bradet-Simpson (Tom Simpson) and her sons Guy Bradet (Rachel), Marc Bradet, Jacques Bradet (Joanne Coulombe) and Gilbert Bradet (Maureen Laigniel). Grandchildren are Céleste Gagnon (Nicholas Gagnon), Joël Bradet, Danielle Bradet, and Samuel Bradet and her great-grandson, Liam Gagnon. Over the past several years she had enjoyed the support and care from her sister Flora Gareau and also leaves behind her brothers Treflé Gareau and Denis Gareau, and sister-in-law Denise Gareau. Constance devoted her life to her family and community. She was a passionate fighter for the underprivileged and believed strongly in social justice and equity for all. She was involved in numerous community organizations including the local Caisse populaire, school and parent associations, and several other political and charitable associations. Constance was also deeply religious and was a member of her church choir for many years. She was well known and loved by all parishioners. The bulk of her work life was with Radio Canada where she made numerous friends in both the Francophone and Anglophone services. Constance retired relatively early due to arthritic conditions. That said this did not stop her from travelling the world and starting new hobbies such as petit-point and chair cover restorations. Her family members and friends were blessed to be recipients of her gifted artwork. Life was becoming more challenging over the past few years. Notwithstanding her failing health, Constance was able to thoroughly enjoy her time at the Cathedral Manor. This was a paradise for her and she never got tired of telling anyone who would listen about the wonderful community at the manor. In the end, Constance left with grace and honour telling her children and grandchildren to stay together and to always love one another. To her, this was really what counted in life. The family extends its utmost appreciation to the wonderful and dedicated staff at the St. Boniface Hospital and also to the great people working and caring at the Cathedral Manor.
