Moore Hospital in Hodgson, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Clifford Eugene Ross. Mom was born in Upper Dyke Village, Nova Scotia on February 28, 1927 to her loving parents, father, Roy States and mother, Rita States. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her five children, Judy Harper, Gail Brickhouse, Debbie Williams (Dennis), Tony Ross (Rosa) and Karen Abas (Brad Malcowich), 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Bayfield and Allan and her sisters Pauline, Dollie, Betty, Maxine, Gloria and Barbara, numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Rita States, her father Roy States and her loving brothers Robert, Delancey and Ronald whom she adored. As the oldest of 12, she had a life long love and affection for all children and especially babies. Mom loved to knit, sew and figure skate as a young woman. As she grew older, she developed a great love of gardening, plants, canning and taking care of her home. Mom loved Christmas - decorating, lots of presents and taught all of her daughters how to bake. Mom was Santa! Mom loved music and singing. She attended many musical concerts with Karen over the years and saw many of her favourite stars. Our Mom had a wonderful sense of humour which we will all miss dearly. She had the heart of a lion and a tender, kind spirit. She left a strong family with four generations of hard working successful individuals who continue to make significant individual contributions to our society and this world. She would be extremely proud. The family would like to thank the many friends and relatives in the community of Fisher Branch, Manitoba who befriended and embraced our Mother every day. There are no words to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for each one of the superb Fisher Branch Personal Care Home staff who touched our Mom's life in many, many ways. Nana, I've missed you since we left to come here. It's been a rough road for many of us with the various life obstacles which we have endured. I am saddened at the fact that I didn't get a chance to see you before you went home w/ Granga but I am elated that you two will be as one once again. I love you & will miss you, Cheech - Posted by: Charles Cameron Rosbri Brickhouse I (Grandson) on: May 14, 2014
