Date of Passing: May 13, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLENA WIEBE It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to our mother and grandmother Lena Wiebe. Lena died peacefully on May 13, 2014 at the Grace Hospital. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Jennifer Doerksen (Paul), son Nathan, and grandsons Nicholas and Noah Doerksen, and Curtis and Ayden Wiebe. Lena is survived by her sister Laura Friesen and brothers George (Margaret) and Walter (Darlene) and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Lena was predeceased by four brothers and one sister. Lena was born on September 10, 1942 in Winnipegosis, Manitoba. She was raised on the family farm in Fork River and this is where her love of the outdoors developed. She moved to Winnipeg and married George Wiebe in 1964 and they raised their children Jennifer and Nathan in Crestview. She enjoyed visiting with neighbours while enjoying a cup of coffee. She was proud of her large garden and enjoyed sharing her harvest with family, friends and neighbours. In the late 1980s she fulfilled a lifelong dream and returned to school to become a cosmetologist. The family would like to thank mom's close friends Heather, Debbie and her Church Life Group for the comfort that they provided mom and our families in her final months. We would also like to extend heartfelt thanks for the care and compassion received from all the staff on the third and fourth floors of the Grace Hospital. A celebration of Lena's life will be held Tuesday, May 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations in Lena's memory may be made to the Grace Hospital foundation. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

Aunt Lena played a big role in my life when I first went to school. She was my big sister. My condolences to Jennifer and Nathan, it is never easy to lose a mother. Her life was cut too short. Cherish the memories and the good times. We are thinking of you through this tragic time. Bob & Vi - Posted by: Bob & Vi Grove (Niece) on: May 20, 2014
