SVEINN PALSSON Suddenly on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Irene Baron Eden Centre, Sveinn passed away at the age of 90 years. Sveinn will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Darlene (David Plouffe) of Ottawa; sons Robert (Sue), and Joel (Bev English) of Port Coquitlam; cousins, nieces and nephews. Sveinn was predeceased by his parents Sveinn and Vigdis, wife Katherine, and sister Runa Mangl. Sveinn was born near Riverton, MB, on February 4, 1924 and spent his early years fishing on Lake Winnipeg. Sveinn married Katherine Fedorak on May 10, 1952, and moved to Winnipeg where he worked as a plumber / steamfitter in the construction industry and later at C.P. Rail. He was a proud member of the United Association Local 254 for 61 years. His many interests included bowling, cross country skiing, baking, puzzles and tending to his prized rose garden. We will miss his humour and his regular Sunday phone calls. A celebration of life reception for Sveinn will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. Special thanks to the staff at Irene Baron Eden Centre and Harmony Court at Riverwood Square for taking good care of our father.
