ILONA CSIKAR 1932 - 2014 Ilona gave her spirit back to the Lord at the age of 82 and is now resting in the loving heart of our Lord Jesus. She was predeceased by her husband, Tibor; and her sister Edit. Ilona will be sadly missed by her sister, Erzsebet, nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends in Hungary. Ilona came to Canada with her husband, Tibor, shortly after the 1956 Hungarian revolution. She fondly spoke of the many friendships she formed since their arrival to Canada. Ilona was very proud of her cooking and baking. She also enjoyed sharing her homemade baked goods with her neighbours and friends. Ilona will be missed and yet fondly remembered by her numerous friends and neighbours in Canada. Memorial service will take place on Thursday, May 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with interment and reception to follow. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I lived across the street from Ilona and Tibor and she was always kind to us and my three children. I admired her handiwork in the garden. I remember particularly during her frequent garage sales she would make a point of asking my daughters to choose a piece of jewellery for free... it made their day! A sweet lady.
