PAULETTE PRETEAU
Born: Aug 09, 1942
Date of Passing: May 18, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAULETTE PRETEAU (MARCOTTE) After a life fulfilled, Paulette went peacefully to meet her Lord and Saviour on May 18, 2014 at the Saint Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Born August 9, 1942 in St. Malo, MB, she was the daughter of Jean Preteau and Léona Preteau (Coté) who predeceased her. She is survived by her three children: Johanne Pitiot (Yves), Mona Marcotte (Arthur Lepp), and Dean Marcotte, six grandchildren: Stephanie and Rebecca Pitiot, Jordan and Jasmine Kozier, and Samantha Olivier and Alana Altman; and four sisters: Aline Preteau Baylis Sveinson (Paul), Jeannette Trudel (Réal), Rita Coulomb (Maurice) and Claudette Rémillard (Jacques); and many nieces and nephews. Paulette was a kind and giving person, especially with children. She decided to pursue a profession in teaching while working fulltime and completing her Masters over a period of ten years. Her teaching career was with Ecole Lacerte Elementary School in Windsor Park, during which she gave much of her time helping students with their education and their personal well-being. Upon retirement, she enjoyed many years at her cottage at Hillside Beach with her family and friends. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren and she always looked forward to family gatherings especially with her sisters in St. Malo. She lived by her heart and touched many with her kindness and genuine love. We will miss her dearly but comforted knowing she is always with us in spirit. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 778 Archibald Street, Father Robert McDougall officiating, with a light lunch to follow. The family would like to thank the St. Boniface Hospital staff and volunteers for their excellent care and compassion during Paulette's final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 204-775-2220.

My sympathy to all of Paulette's family. She fought a huge battle but won as she has now gone to a better place. I knew of Paulette only from both of us being from our home town of St-Malo but it was in 2002 that our paths crossed. Paulette and I exchanged conversations while at a retreat given by Alain Dumont. Paulette had a huge faith and was a genuine caring person. May you rest in peace and thank you for having taken the time to connect with me. - Posted by: Rachelle Tessier () on: May 22, 2014
