NESTOR PALUCK With his family by his side Nestor Paluck, aged 91 passed away on May 16, 2014 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Nestor is survived by his sons Victor (Sally) and Daniel; grandchildren Lauren, Jared, Felicia, Simon and Jordan. He was predeceased by wife Jennifer, son Lorne and brother Frank. Nestor was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 18. He served his country as an infantryman during the Second World War. Nestor married Jennifer Rostkowski in 1951 and he worked at Manitoba Bridge from 1946 - 1987. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to War Amps, 1 Maybrook Drive, Scarborough, ON M1V 5K9 in Nestor's memory. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 338-7111

I had the pleasure of driving Nestor to and from a few of his hearing appointments in the last few years. He was kind, funny, bright & loved to reminisce on his life as a young working man in Winnipeg. He'd continuously point out special buildings & places that meant something to him. And he wasn't shy to share his opinion on things in the world that needed fixing! He was proud to still be in his own home & spoke lovingly of his wife. And he loved to dance! After his hearing appointment, I usually had to drop him off at the Legion, Salter & McGregor, where he spent the afternoon, dancing and visiting. I will miss him.
