John was true friend, can't believe he left us so suddenly! In his days with the Winnipeg police service I was in Children's Hospital and he was a daily visitor as a family friend, even as sick as I was and at a young age I still remember all the kind hearted and important things he did the month I was in. One that will be cherished and most importantly remembered as long as I live is helping my family get a second opinion doctor for the illness I had, that probably saved my life. Dawna, our thoughts and prayers are with you for the unexpected loss! - Posted by: Gerald (Thelma)Waldner (Friend) on: May 25, 2014

Uncle John always had a smile and a joke for us. He probably didn't realize he would inherit 3 nieces when we moved across the street but we claimed him as our own and loved him dearly. - Posted by: Samantha Houzon () on: May 24, 2014

Very sad news of John's passing. A solid person, a solid police officer and a solid friend. I had the pleasure of working with John, although different departments, when police work was being out on the road, making a difference. John, you and Boris were the best dog handlers I have known and most respected within your peers. May God Bless you and rest in peace my friend. My prayers and thoughts go out to John's Family, friends and co workers. - Posted by: Nuno Camara (Friend) on: May 24, 2014
