JAMES TODD It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of James Todd on May 19, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents Jim Sr. and Edith, his nephew John, his uncle Gordon and his aunt Babs. Lovingly remembered by his devoted wife and soul mate Donna, loving son Jim (Debbie), big brothers Barry (Kathy), Victoria, BC and Geoff (Val), Thunder Bay, ON, grandsons Caignaan and Jordan, many nieces, nephews and family in England. Jim was born in Wingate, England and immigrated with his family to Fort William in 1954. He was educated in Thunder Bay and worked as a Stationary Engineer at Great Lakes Paper Co. He travelled to Longlac, Oshawa and back to Thunder Bay to enhance his resume for his dream job of Boiler Inspector. He achieved that in 1986 when he was hired by Commercial Union here in Winnipeg. Unfortunately he only worked two years before being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and having to go on long lerm disability. He loved motorcycle riding, building street rods, target shooting and hunting. In 1966, he travelled with the Canadian Army Cadets, for a shooting competition at Bisley, England where he won the "Alexander Graham Bell" trophy with a perfect score of 66. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors on 4th and 5th floors of the Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion during Jim's on and off stays for the past 10 years especially the Emergency Room staff on May 19 for their professional and caring help in dealing with our decision of that day and making us feel at ease during the process. As per Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place and interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thunder Bay at a later date. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Manitoba Division, or to the Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto, ON in Jim's memory.
