EDWIN CHARLES HAACKE It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edwin Charles Haacke with his family by his side on May 28, 2014, at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife Rose Marie of 59 years, his children Chris (Nicole), grandchildren Natasha, Caitlin, Sydney, Skylar, Niiko, sister-in-law Gladys Wilson, brother-in-law Dan Heather, as well as many nieces and nephews. Edwin was predeceased by his parents Roy Edwin and Mathilda Patricia, and his brother Dan. Edwin ran a successful electrical contracting company for 43 years. As per Edwin's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A gathering of remembrance will be held at the family home on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. The family would like to extend thanks to first responders and doctors and nurses at Victoria Hospital, as well as Kelly and Brian for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edwin's memory, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. "To A Gentle Man" A quiet and a gentle man went to his home today. A home the Lord has prepared from which he'll never stray. A place where all the memories will never fade away and new ones are created on each and every day. He is done with earthly chores and rests with God above as he's raising his family with gentleness and love. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
