Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER GRIFFITH On Friday, May 30, 2014 at the age of 74, Walter slipped away peacefully into his Saviour's arms. Walter was predeceased by his parents Albert and Helene Griffith; his brother Leonard; father-in-law and mother-in-law Diedrich and Lizzie Dueck; four brothers-in-law and one niece. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 51 years, LaVerna; daughters: Kim (Jason) Kehler and Candace (Tom) Eschuk; and grandchildren: Britni and Jillian Kehler and Tyree and Liam Griffith-Eschuk. Walter lived life to the fullest and always put family and friends first. He enjoyed a 42 year long career in retail. He will be cherished in our hearts forever. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach, MB. Walter was one of those neighbours that you wish you could have cloned. Always warm and smiling in spite of a long medical battle. Moving to Winnipeg in 1990 and living on the same street, Walt brought truth to the "Friendly Manitoba" phrase. Walt was a wonderful brother-in-law and friend. We have such fine memories. Shortly before he died, he proved to us that he still could run around the block!! His courage and determination were so evident. Our love and prayers go out to you all, and may the Lord Jesus keep you in His care, just as He now has Walt in His keeping.
