MARJORIE IRENE STAVENJORD (SPENCER) Peacefully, on Saturday, May 31, 2014 Marjorie passed away at the age of 97 years. She will be missed by all those who touched her life especially her family Karen (Calgary), Tannis and Don (Winnipeg), Bruce and Ann (Vancouver): grandchildren Scott (Hannah), Ryan, David (Katyna), Paul (Monica), Lindsey, Michelle (Sean); and eight great grandchildren. Marge also leaves sisters Kay and Melba (Don) and brother Lloyd (Marg). She was predeceased by her loving husband Nels (Stav). Marge had a gregarious and outgoing personality that fostered a lively interest in all her family and friends. Her keen sense of humour, caring ways and genuine interest in those around her defined her character. Marge was born in Miniota, Manitoba in 1917. Her father died when she was young and her responsibility to family started at that time as she helped care for her younger siblings. She enjoyed living in the country and was active in sports and enjoyed writing. She worked as a secretary at Eaton's before marrying Nels in 1947 and becoming a Red Serge Wife-supporting and assisting Nels in the RCMP detachments. Marge volunteered at the Misericordia Hospital, was active in the St. Andrew's Alter Guild, and the RCMP Ladies Auxiliary but her main career was devoted to her family. Her children came first and she was always there for them. Her friends shared in the bounty of her kitchen as care baskets of muffins always went to anyone in need. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved their big hugs. She wanted to live long enough to see them "graduate" into life. All her interests never overshadowed her happiest times which were shared with her soul mate Stav. When Stav died, a large part of Marge went with him. Now they are together in peace. Marge spent the last years of her life in the care of West Park Manor and she would like to thank all those that she smiled at every day for their kindness. A private family day of remembrance will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Marge's memory to West Park Manor or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 9Z9. "I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one." "I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done." NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
