Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANDREW DI RADO It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew (Andrea) Di Rado on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the age of 74 years. He is survived by his wife Rosa, daughters Annette (Jose), Sandra (Rene), Maria, two sisters Rose (Domenico) of Victoria, BC and Santa Maria of Winnipeg. Andrew was predeceased by his parents Domenico and Maria, brothers Nicola, Mario, Alberto and Tomasso. Dad was born in Santa Maria Imbaro, di Chieti, Italy on December 22, 1939. In 1952 he came to Winnipeg with his brother Alberto to join his Dad and brother Nicola. Shortly after he arrived he went to school and started a part time job as a delivery boy for Meyers Drug. Years later he was employed as a cloth cutter for Sterling Stall & Son, where he worked both jobs for over 40 years till he retired. His passions were spending time at his cottage in Winnipeg Beach, visiting with family and friends, Rosa's mother Irene Ferreira, eating lunch at DeLuca's and the many fishing trips he went on with his brother-in-law Bill Dandurand (Helen) whom he celebrated Christmas with every year. Viewing will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding at the Eucharist. A reception to follow after the service at Holy Rosary Church. Pallbearers will be: Alberto De Rado, Fernando Melizza, Jose Raposo, Rene Oelschlagel, Bill Dandurand and Joe Ferreira. Entombment will commence at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery 3990 Portage Ave. Thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital for their care of Dad and compassion for the family. Also a special thank you to family and friends for their kind words and support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
