Mom grew up in the North End where she never forgot her roots. She worked at the Canadian Wheat Board and retired in 1995. • Missing your smile, your heart and the warmth of your embrace. You're forever on my mind Grandma and always in my heart. The world is a different place without your grace here with us. Today as I sat outside and felt the warmth of the sun I couldn't help but feel you with me, listening to robins singing their beautiful songs always brings me to a place where I feel you most. Bye for now, love you to the moon and back. xxoo - Posted by: Victoria Ewbank (Granddaughter ) on: Mar 24, 2015

  • We would like to wish the family our heartfelt condolences on the passing of a lovely lady. Carol was a great sister-in-law when she first married Ernie and after his passing in '62 she remained a close knit member of the Hessler family. We will always remember her spontaneous laughter and loving ways especially with her children as a young mother. We plan to be in Winnipeg in late July and will visit Carol at her final resting place. With love, Ron and Joyce. - Posted by: Mr.& Mrs. Ron Hessler (Brother-in-law) on: Jun 15, 2014

  • Auntie Carol was a wonderful person. I fondly remember frequent family gatherings at Auntie's house when I was a young boy, playing with my cousins and eating auntie's fantastic homemade spaghetti dinner! I will never forget the genuine, natural kindness that Auntie Carol shared with those she loved. One example of that for me was how, after my mom (her sister) passed away, Auntie Carol never failed to send me a birthday card. A simple act of kindenss that will keep Auntie's memory with me forever. My thoughts and prayers are with Charlene, Michael, Anthony, Joanne and their families. - Posted by: Grant Anderson (nephew) on: Jun 13, 2014

  • Randy, Mr and Mrs. Reichardt, my condolences on the passing of your aunt, sister, sister in law. Many prayers for you all. - Posted by: Laurie GydĂ© (Friend of the family) on: Jun 12, 2014

  • Carol was such a kind and caring lady with such a spicy sense of humor. When I had the pleasure of visiting with her with my grandma Helen, she was so funny and such a friendly person to be around. My grandma would talk about her all the time and tell me the funny things they did at their 'girl's club' lunches and out shopping. Carol was there at my wedding shower 7 years ago & most recently gave my daughter a stuffed puppy dog to help her sleep better. Rest in peace Carol, you will always be in our memories. - Posted by: Amanda K (Helen's grand daughter) on: Jun 12, 2014

  • Auntie Carol was very special to me, and I will cherish fond memories of her forever. I remember spending time at the lake with my parents, Auntie Carol, and her first husband, Uncle Ernie, and also remember visits to what was then Fort William (now Thunder Bay) to visit her and her family, including second husband Uncle Sam. I always felt welcome in her home. Although I have not lived in Winnipeg since 1978, often when I visited Winnipeg to see my parents I would try to squeeze in a visit with Auntie Carol. I was fortunate to have seen her recently at Easter when I was there. When I called her in 2012 to ask if she would help celebrate my parents' 60th wedding anniversary with a short tribute, she was more than willing to help. I also remember those amazing spaghetti dinners at the Mastroianni home in the 1970s, with those delicious meatballs! Sleep well, Auntie Carol, I will miss you and always love you. - Posted by: Randy Reichardt (Nephew) on: Jun 12, 2014
