Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRENE AUGUSTE ARNAL April 11, 1934 - June 12, 2014 Rene passed away after a long battle with Parkinson's disease in the arms of his wife of 57 years, Patricia (Gillis). After growing up on the family farm in Fannystelle, he left to continue his education at St. Pauls College before returning back to the farm. After marrying Pat in November of 1957, they moved onto the farm which later became Willow Lane Farms. He enjoyed farming and welcomed children Philip in 1963, Roxanne in 1969, and Kevin in 1975. Also in 1975 he suffered a severe snowmobile accident. Later that year they moved into a new home on the farm but due to complications of the accident, they were forced to sell the farm in 1979 and move to Elie where he subsequently pursued a second career in real estate. He loved his work and continued to keep his license up to the date until he was moved into continuing care in late 2008 due to deterioration of his condition. Rene is survived by sisters Rita Albert of Langley, Helene Piche and Lorraine Tinckam of Winnipeg, and brother Richard of Winnipeg; in-laws Carol, Stella, Gert and Gladys, Gloria and Curt Olson, Joyce Rivard and many nieces and nephews. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Pat, children Philip (Kim and granddaughters Sydney and Jordan) of Winnipeg, Roxanne (Ken Hrubeniuk and grandchildren Taylor and Ethan) of Wainwright, Alberta, and Kevin (Christine) of Lethbridge, Alberta. Rene was predeceased by siblings Gert Obee, Denise Marinoff, Beatrice Piche, Clara Black, Lilianne Beaudry, Florence Tilt, Alfred Arnal, Leo Arnal, Louis Arnal, Vincent Arnal, and Jules Arnal.
