CAROLE JUDITH STEWART (nee BURGESS) October 16, 1946 - June 16, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carole Judith Stewart on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Selkirk District Hospital. After a brief, courageous battle with cancer she is now reunited with her husband Wayne. Left to cherish her memory are her children Deborah (Joseph), Marshall (Christina), Tawnia, and Tamara (Jason); brothers Roy (Pam) and Dan, and her sister Kathy (Jim). Gramma will be dearly missed by her eight grandchildren Melissa, Peyton, Nicole, Coral-Lee, Michael, Brayden, Jacob and Malia. Born and raised in Ontario, Carole was the eldest of five siblings. After marrying her husband Wayne in 1967, she dedicated her life to staying home and raising her children. They spent lots of time during the summer at the cottage. During the summer of 1989 the family moved to Lockport, MB, where they made many lifelong friends. Carole was a sun chaser - she was the happiest when family and friends dropped by for pool parties and looked forward to her winter getaways. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Clements Cemetery, 7 St. Clement's Drive (just south of Gerdau Steel), Selkirk, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
