Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDR. HUBERT BENJAMIN THEODORE YOUNG Peacefully at his residence, Dr. Hubert Young passed away on June 16, 2014. He was born on July 8, 1924 in Canaan, Tobago. He attended Osmond High School in Trinidad and trained as a pharmacist at Port of Spain General Hospital in 1945. Hubert came to Canada in 1953 to pursue his studies at the University of Manitoba where he graduated with a B.Sc. degree. He left Canada in 1959 to study medicine at the University of Mainz, Germany later transferring to Heidelberg University where he completed his studies. After graduating as a Medical Doctor, Hubert returned to Canada and worked at St. Boniface Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital and Deer Lodge Centre. In 1978 he returned to Trinidad where he worked with the Government and also in private practice. On his retirement in 1995 he returned to Canada. He was predeceased by his father Robert, mother Catherine, brothers Reginald and Edward, sister Augusta, brothers-in-law Fredrick Zig' Abrams and Gareth Scott. He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis, sisters Geraldine, Jane Abrams, Theodora Scott, brothers, Ezekiel (Linda), Linston (Joyce), sister-in-law Lucinda Cindy', and several nieces, nephews and cousins in Trinidad and Tobago and in Canada. He will be missed by Joan Alexander, Donna Greaves and Phyllis Hinds. Funeral service will take place on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. at 2:00 p.m. Viewing will begin at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank all the Home Care workers, coordinator Kim, Dr. Doris Kyeremateng, dedicated friends and family for their support. If this is the same Dr. Hubert Young who attended to me as a child, whose home and private practice was next to ours in Calcutta Street St. James then I am truly saddened, and send my condolences to his family.
