MARGIT (MARGARET) VERHAS July 12, 1939 - June 17, 2014 Margaret Verhas died peacefully at Concordia Hospital on June 17, 2014 at the age of 74. She is survived by numerous cousins in Hungary and the Pothe family of Winnipeg. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Steve and Aranka Verhas, infant brother Alidar, her beloved Ron Hansey, and her beloved cats Kimo, Princess, Haly, and Bibi. Margaret was born in Narda, Hungary on July 12, 1939. She came to Canada in 1948 and made her home in Winnipeg with her parents. Margaret worked most of her life with Safeway. In her spare time she loved gardening. Roses in particular were special to her. She also loved classical music (Il Divo), horse racing and car racing. Ron and her would often drive down to Daytona to watch the Indy 500. Her true passion was travelling. She travelled all over the world and loved it. Margaret would like to thank her friends Linda, Larry, Pat, Val, Donna and Danny: "Thank you all for being a part of my life, I know that I was a Pest. Love you always, Mugs" We would also like to thank the staff of N1 North at Concordia Hospital especially, Dr. Kuegle, John and Penny for their kindness and care given to Margaret.
