ROBERT HENRY EVERATT Passed away peacefully on June 18, 2014, with family by his side at the Fisher Personal Care Home in Fisher Branch, MB. Dad was born on January 18, 1932 in Ashern, MB. He was the oldest of five children of Robert John and Christianne Everatt. He attended Parker School and worked at various jobs around the Ashern area including driving truck, cutting wood and working at Spear Hill. In 1953, he married Edythe Playter and they had three children, Butch, Al, and Barb. In 1959 they moved to Winnipeg and Dad began working in the automotive industry. He did for many years until retiring from Orion Chevrolet in 1997. He and Mom returned to Ashern for their retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the company of friends and family. He enjoyed his grandchildren very much and they loved him. Three great-grandchildren added to the joy in his family. Dogs were a special joy for him throughout his life. Dad is survived by his son Butch and his sons, Kenny, B.J., Gage and Cole; his daughter Barb Yanke and her husband Barry and their daughters Erin Waldner (Mike and daughter Emma) and Heather; Albert's daughter Nikki Stevenson and her sons Noah and Chase. He is also survived by a brother Garry (Linda), sisters Rose Everatt and Eva Reiser and by Edythe's brothers and sisters along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Edythe, son Albert, his parents and other family members. The family would like to thank Dad's many special friends who were there for him after Mom passed away and up to the present. We would like to thank the many home care workers who helped Dad stay at home as long as he was able and to Lakeshore General Hospital staff who cared for him before he entered the Personal Care Home. Many thanks to Fisher Personal Care Home staff for their many kindnesses to Dad and to our family. A celebration of Dad's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Ashern Legion Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Ashern Municipal Cemetery. A lunch will be held in the Legion Hall following the service. Thanks as well to John and Karen Gray of Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern for their help and to Pastor Bill Watson for conducting the service.
