DOUGLAS WAYNE MCLEOD Suddenly on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Douglas Wayne McLeod of Sanford, Manitoba, beloved husband of Janet McLeod, passed away at the age of 53 years. Prayers will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Cremation will follow with a family interment in the family plot at Kinosota Cemetery at a later date. Doug was born on August 17, 1960 son of Audrey and Walter McLeod at McCreary, Manitoba. He was raised in the Kinosota District and attended school in Kinosota, Portage and finished in Ontario. He was very sports minded and played hockey throughout his lifetime and even played for the London Knights of the O.H.L. Doug worked many jobs throughout his life including home renovation which he had a great talent for. In 2012 he married Janet Rodgers and they made their home in Sanford, Manitoba. Doug loved to play golf and was a very talented musician. He played guitar, sang and recorded music in his studio. Predeceased by his parents Audrey and Walter, and brother Howard, he leaves to mourn his passing his wife Janet, stepdaughters Jennifer (Victor) and Amanda, and step-granddaughter Londyn. Also surviving are three brothers Gilmore (Patsy), Lindsay (Sandra), Larry (Sonja), three sisters Fran (Joseph), Donna (Ron), Jeannette (Cecil), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Portage Office, 103 Wilkinson Crescent, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 1A7.
