NORMAN MAIERT November 28, 1935 - January 25, 2014 Passed away peacefully on January 25, 2014 at the Lundar Personal Care Home. Norman was a kind, generous, honest, hardworking and funny person (he enjoyed a good laugh). He was a mechanic in Winnipeg for many years and enjoyed helping out at his family farm. He met and married Rosa in 1958 but were never blessed with children. Eventually over the years, he built a small, cute house all by himself on a few acres of land in the Oak Point area not far from his parents. Norman and Rosa moved away from the city life. They never lived above their means. He lived a simple life. They were poor but happy people. He always had a smile on his face for friends and family. Norman enjoyed playing pool, visiting with friends and loved ones, and loved a good, cold beer. Norman was predeceased by his parents Fred and Anna, brother Robert, and wife Rosa. He will forever be remembered by his niece Donna and family. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Lundar Legion Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. I would like to thank the Lundar Personal Care Home for taking such wonderful care of Norman during his stay there. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Although it's been a very long time, not since the 80's. I have wonderful memories of Norman and Rosa. Two very special people. Our family moved to Ontario when I was just a baby so only flew back a couple of times as an adult. Looking back I wish I had worked harder to go back for more visits and get to know him better and Rosa too. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Linda Hogeveen (Niece) on: Jul 03, 2014

  • I can remember going to visit Norman & Rosa with my dad (Edwin Lutz) and sister and brothers. We had so much fun visiting Norman. I have lots of good memories visiting Norman. He was a cousin but we called Norman Uncle. RIP - Posted by: donna lutz (cousin (Uncle)) on: Jun 25, 2014
