Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Margaret "Marge" Kozak ---- our friendship was born through our love of hockey. This may appear a lengthy tribute but it's the way that two families came together as friends and flourished as the years passed. We were in Winnipeg visiting with family when my wife was taken ill, necessitating a family US trip to be placed on hold. This free time for me allowed time to be spent with my cousin at the Manitoba Moose training sessions at the Highlander rink. During one of the sessions I was interviewed by CTV for their evening sports show. While attending a training game at the old Winnipeg Arena I was approached by two ladies, one being Margaret, she asked "are you the English guy that was on the television last night"? ----- those words were to be the start of our friendship. On further visits to Winnipeg we always met up for a meal and a Moose game. We kept in touch by long distance phone calls and letters and photos, we liked the same things, pet dogs, and Canada Geese, she took a real "family" interest in our three granddaughters, and they grew to know her as Auntie Marge. The miles between us didn't deter our affection for Marge, when we spoke it was as if it was a chat to a dear loved one, and that's what Marge was to us. Marge, we miss you already and only wish we could have said our goodbyes in person - so until next we meet we will say Marge- you will always be with us. Special thoughts go to the family, especially Linda who we always met up with and Dorothy who we spoke to. God Bless you all.
