RON CHISHOLM
Born: Jun 24, 1934
Date of Passing: May 29, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRON CHISHOLM June 24, 1934 - May 29, 2014 Peacefully, in early morning with the sun shining, our loving husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa passed away with family by his side. Ron leaves his wife of 52 years - Betty; sons Rick and Bob (Cindy); daughter Kelli Jasman; grandchildren Chris and Cody Chisholm, Shannon and Ryan Jasman; their father Craig Jasman; great-granddaughter Emily; sisters Marilyn (Percy) Zelnick and Heather Chisholm; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and daughter-in-law, Jaris. Dad was born in Montreal, living in the Town of Mount Royal attending Catholic High and Loyola University. His entire life revolved around his family, church, community and sports. Prior to his retirement, Dad worked successfully in sales for over 40 years in the floor covering industry in Ontario, Nova Scotia and Manitoba. All who played with or saw him play and excel in sports knew his drive and focus. He was an athlete who lived the importance of practice and perseverance, sharing his talents and philosophy with family and community as coach and teacher in amateur sport, formally and informally at ball diamonds, tracks or rinks. Dad loved and supported the vulnerable and disadvantaged - as a Special Olympics coach, gathering and distributing used sports equipment to the inner city, administering communion as a layperson and working as a group home attendant. With passionate, steadfast conviction and beliefs, he faithfully and actively served his church his whole life. First and foremost to Dad was his family whom he loved each and every day - your spot at the head of the dining room table will never be replaced in our hearts. Words alone cannot express our loss. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. Our thanks to the staff of Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home for their kindness, respect and care of Dad this past year. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Manitoba Special Olympics, Agape Table (Winnipeg) or a donation of time spent with the ill or aged in hospital or personal care homes is appreciated. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204-897-4665, is in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.com
