Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAXWELL CARL KENDALL Peacefully, on June 27, 2014, Max passed away at the age of 84 years at the Riverview Health Centre. Max is survived by his devoted and loving wife of almost 57 years, Marjorie (Rasmussen), his children Kim (Mike Maliepaard), Tammy (Collin Shirtliff) and Mark (Michelle). He also leaves to cherish his memory his seven grandchildren: Katie, Rachel, Hannah, Connor, Cole, Tyler and Devin. Max also leaves two older brothers Raymond (Dorothy) and Donald (Helen) Kendall, his sisters-in-law Sharon (Harlan) Bestland, Donna (Rene) Beaudry, and Barbara (Brian) Kaminsky, and many nieces and nephews. Max was predeceased by his parents Kate and Jacob Kendall, his brothers Ernest and Harold, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Edna and Johnny Rasmussen. Born March 12, 1930 in Morden, Manitoba, Max moved at a young age with his family to a farm near Starbuck, Manitoba. Max married Marjorie, the love of his life, on July 25, 1957. Max and Marjorie owned and operated the family grain farm until he retired at age 73. Over the years he also had a gravel hauling business and worked at Versatile Manufacturing, Manitoba Sugar, and other jobs. Max loved travelling, especially to the Caribbean in the winter, and couldn't wait to get to a great beach and enjoy the sun. He was proud of his yard and spent hours planting and watering trees, cutting the lawn and making sure his gravel driveway was in perfect condition. Walking, biking and working outdoors kept him in great shape. He never missed reading the newspaper and watching the evening news. Max and Marjorie enjoyed many social events with their large group of lifelong friends. In the summer of 2003, Max contracted West Nile Virus which led to neurological issues but he recovered to be able to walk and drive again. Max and Marjorie moved from their farm to Winnipeg where Max enjoyed being able to walk to Tim Horton's and bike around the city. Alzheimer's disease necessitated his move to Riverview Health Centre in 2011. Max was so proud of his family's accomplishments and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Max made sure his children understood the importance of an education, savings plans, defensive driving, and regular vehicle maintenance. He worked hard and also enjoyed taking a break in the yard on a beautiful summer afternoon. Our summer camping adventures will never be forgotten. Thanks for all the great memories, Dad! The family would like to thank all the staff on A2 at Riverview for their kindness to Max and to us. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Starbuck, MB with Pastor Ron Vert officiating. Private family interment of ashes will take place prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Starbuck, MB, R0G 2P0 or Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 2P4. Max was an amazing uncle, and I personally will always remember his laughter. I remember also tearing around on that perfect gravel driveway in a go cart when I was a lot younger. He has left behind a wonderful legacy, a beautiful family that will remember him well, and he will be missed. - Posted by: Jeff Franzmann (Nephew) on: Jun 30, 2014
