  • I worked closely with Tom in the early 2000s when he served as Selkirk Model Railroad Association President and I served as Secretary for four years. This relationship was repeated for two years more recently. Tom will be remembered as an honest, faithful man who liked to keep in touch with his colleagues and friends. I will miss his friendly phone calls and the discussions we had. May God give His comfort to family members and friends who mourn the loss of Thomas. - Posted by: Bruce Brand (Member of Selkirk Model Railroad Assoc. Inc.) on: Jul 07, 2014

  • I will always remember Tom as the friendly face as you came into the room where the train show was being held. He always had a smile to greet us and would make my Grandkids feel special. At Christmas time Tom would be at the entrance table to collect your ticket or money for the dinner and sell raffle tickets for the multitude of prizes to be won and he always had a big smile. Whenever Tom asked me for donations for the raffle I was more than happy to oblige. I worked for Elmwood Hobby Works for over 13 years, 11 of which I was the manager and I was happy to support any model railway function. Model trains were surely a huge passion for him. If we were fortunate enough to bring any of our grandchildren along to the dinner, he always treated them special. One Christmas my granddaughter had so many goodies that she was set until Halloween. Tom loved kids and it showed. Tom, my friend, you will surely be missed but never forgotten. My condolences go out to your family and many friends. - Posted by: Chuck Huard (Friend) on: Jul 05, 2014

  • May you rest in peace my dear friend nonetheless we will miss you, your phone call and your presence at the club. The Tim Horton's coffee time after club nite never will be the same, and we will all miss the teasing and that English sense of humour. It was a privilege to be your friend. - Posted by: Joe Laroche (Friend) on: Jul 05, 2014

  • His phone calls and stories of his trains will be sadly missed. Over 40 years of Safeway’s he was a wonderful coworker. As a brother and uncle that he was so proud of and often talked of his nephew. May our condolences go to the family. As he ride the train above us. - Posted by: Louise Machinski (Co work at Safway & Friend ) on: Jul 05, 2014

  • Tom was a true friend, his dedication to the Selkirk Model railroad club was unsurpassed. He was the glue that held the club together. Organizing for the shows in spring and at Christmas. It was at his insistence that the club donated proceeds for and advertised for a tin for the bin at our annual Christmas shows with proceeds going to the local hamper drive and food bank. He dedicated himself to helping the club in whatever fashion was needed, whether it came to cleaning up before and after shows. Organizing silent auction draws or fund raising for the club in whatever fashion was required. I will surely miss our nightly phone calls, and how about the latest on the Jets or Bombers. Good bye my friend - Posted by: Denis Fitzpatrick (Friend) on: Jul 05, 2014
