DENIS ROSARIO COMEAULT December 14, 1922 - July 2, 2014 Peacefully, on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at age 91, our beloved Dad, (Pepère) passed away with family by his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Léo (Lorraine), Liliane (Jim) Flinn, Irène (John) Tellier and Denise. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, his sister Yvette Poiron along with numerous nieces, nephews, brothers/sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by his wife Clémence (née Grenier), his infant children Florent, Maurice and Marcelle, his parents Rosario and Clémentine (née Bérard), infant brother Maurice, as well as his sister Georgette Gérardy. Dad was born in St. Jean Baptiste and at age 13 his parents moved the family to St. Labre. After a brief stint in the army, Dad returned to the homestead where he settled with his new bride and operated the saw mill. He moved his young family to Winnipeg in 1948 and became employed at the (Hospice) Tache Nursing Centre. It was not long before his skills were recognized and he was promoted to Stationary Chief Engineer, where he remained until his retirement in 1984. He was instrumental in the construction of the facility as it is known today. Dad's greatest love was for his family. He had a natural musical talent, as he played his fiddle and guitar at numerous celebrations and continued to play well into his 80s. He had a love for life as he enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography, gardening, baseball and bowling. He was very much involved and volunteered for many years for St. Eugène Parish. The family would like to acknowledge those who have enriched his life. We would like to offer a special thank you to all the dedicated staff at Actionmarguerite St. Vital for all their care and compassion over the last three years. A celebration of Dad's life will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 with viewing at 1:30 followed by a service at 2:00 p.m., at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the charity of your choice. • Repose en paix Monsieur Comeault,je vais manquer ton beaux sourire, et nos belle conversations!! xx - Posted by: Tania Druwe () on: Jul 17, 2014

  • Pepere always made me laugh with his jokes, I wish he could tell me one now. I miss him so much even though I did not visit him often enough I wish he were here. He was a gentle man very sweet and had a big heart just like memere. He is still with me in spirit just like memere and I will always keep him in my heart. J'taime pepere. - Posted by: louise comeault (granddaughter ) on: Jul 07, 2014

  • Although I have never met Mr. Comeault, Denise's loving and engaging descriptions over lunchtime conversations left me with the impression of a loving, caring father, who passed his love of music on to his daughter. Caring for an ailing parent is a challenge that I have experienced myself. It is difficult, but rewarding. Know that your father's spirit will always live within you all. - Posted by: Susan J Keller (Former colleague of daughter, Denise) on: Jul 06, 2014
