ARTHUR (ART) HUGH KNIGHT 1943 - 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Art Knight beloved husband, father and grandfather on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Art was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Art was predeceased by his mother Helen Knight and by his father Jim Knight. Art will be missed by his best friend and wife Beth Knight. Also left to mourn are his children and grandchildren; son Scott Knight (Lisa) with granddaughters Jessica and Briana, and daughter Karin with grandson Doug. Also left to mourn are his brother Jim (Holly) and sister Mary (Mike). Also missing Art are his nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, Kristen (Matt), Alex and Jamie and his extended family both in Winnipeg and Vancouver, sister-in-law Dodi (Ken) and Dale and family and brother-in-law Les (Wilma) and Shelley, Diane and family. Art was born and spent his life in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Art had a variety of jobs but his heart was spent with his friends from the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs. Art was a member for over forty years with first Hiawatha and then with Alpha Lodge and continued to be an active member and was a Grand Master in the lodge. Our thanks go to the staff at Concordia Hospital and the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service for all of their help and understanding. We would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Winnipeg Diabetes Research Group. There will be a celebration of Art's life on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the Tyndall Park Community Centre, 2255 King Edward Street. In lieu of flowers donations to the Winnipeg Diabetes Research Group at 838-715 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 3P4 would be much appreciated. So sorry for your loss. I will miss Mr. Knight's visits at the Diabetes Research Group. He always had great stories and would share his advice as we chatted about life. He talked about his family with such pride. He was such a great patient as he was so organized and would joke that he could practically do the visits by himself. Thanks for all the years of involvement with the Diabetes Reserach Group Mr. Knight .... You were a special patient. - Posted by: Sheri (Dietitian at Diabetes Research Group ) on: Jul 07, 2014
