LYNDA MIRIAM LERAY (MERRY) November 12, 1949 - June 27, 2014 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, after a courageous battle with cancer with her children by her side. Lynda leaves behind her husband Al, and children Vanessa (Damiano) and Steve (Tara). She was a loving gramma to Jaidan, Liam, Quinn, Michael and Megan. Also mourning her loss are her chosen son Faiez, stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved as her own, as well as her sister Judith, nieces and nephews, the Duncan family, Judy Kidd and John Merry. Mom will always be remembered for her strong devotion, kindness and putting her family first. Her character was long defined before her cancer to see the good and live her life with honest sincerity. This gift of her spirit will resonate through her children and grandchildren. We will treasure our too short time with mom and know that she will now be providing guidance from above. Mom was so appreciative of her close friends and family who supported her during her illness, including but not limited to, Judy, Melanie, Joan, Doris and Joanne. We are very grateful to all of the doctors, nurses, aids and Patti at CancerCare, Home Care Palliative Care Program and the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit. We are also thankful to our family, friends and co-workers who have supported us through this journey. Words cannot begin to express our gratitude to everyone for your kindness, love and compassion. In accordance with her wishes, mom has been cremated and there will be no service. If you wish to contact the family we can be reached at lynleray@hotmail.com

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Lyn was not just a neighbor; she was an entertaining 'bus buddy' on the 57 Express from Southdale each morning for a few years. A joy to be with, she embraced life enthusiastically, always had a good story and a unique perspective. The bus was actually fun, full of people who liked to leave our cars at home, speed downtown then disperse to the towers & shops. Lyn embodied laughter, change and new ideas. She was smart, observant and funny. She loved her family, enjoyed her job and her friends. We will all miss her and our condolences go out to her family. - Posted by: Yvonne Baert (Friend) on: Aug 06, 2014
