WILLIAM ORR GIBSON On Friday, July 4, 2014 Bill died at the age of 86 years. A Celebration of Bill's Life was held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel at 1020 Main Street, Winnipeg. WILLIAM ORR GIBSON Suddenly, on Friday, July 4, 2014 Bill died at the age of 86 years. Left to mourn are his wife of 61 years, Lily; sons Will and John (Valerie); daughter Ingrid (Robert); grandchildren Erin (Andrew), Joel (Alyssa), and Megan; sister Madeline (Ross); nieces and nephew; great-nieces and great- nephews. He was predeceased by his parents William and Belle Gibson and his sister Bette (Ron). Bill was born in Winnipeg, MB on February 2, 1928 and was the youngest of three children. He attended various schools: Isaac Brock, Daniel McIntyre and then the woodworking classes at Kelvin. Woodworking was his passion. He had two shops, the first was in St. James, behind his home and the second in Stony Mountain, beside his home. He loved all the work he created from cedar chests, to bedroom suites and kitchen cabinets, rec rooms to a custom built home. Bill had many interests. He loved to play golf, cards - especially bridge, solving Sudoko problems and putting jigsaw pieces of a puzzle together. Also, he volunteered during the Christmas season with the Salvation Army Kettle program. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel at 1020 Main Street, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.   • We are deeply saddened & dismayed to only today (Mar.16, 2015) learn of Bill's untimely passing. We extend our sincere condolences to all the family. Bill is fondly remembered as My 4 PM relief at the Polo Park Salvation Army kettle. He never missed a shift & was always on time or a bit early. I missed him last year and didn't know what happened.
