JOHN ALEXANDER DUNCAN With regret, we announce the passing of John A. Duncan on July 6, 2014 at the Health Sciences Centre with his wife Deborah, sons Christopher and Robert at his side. John will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends, who loved him dearly, including his brother David of Ste. Anne, MB and son Kenneth of Grande Prairie, AB. John was born in Toronto on March 18, 1936, the youngest son of Margaret and David Duncan. A few years later the Duncan family moved to Winnipeg where John grew up and attended school in St. James. Throughout his working years, John's career paths often required him to travel extensively throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan and northwestern Ontario as well as residing and working for many years in Calgary and Surrey, BC. John was a man of many talents and interests, from photography and archaeology to knife-making and model railroading, naming only a few. His attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship enabled him to produce many outstanding pieces of work. John was also an avid outdoorsman who was at his happiest when hunting and camping in the back country of the mountains, forests or rolling hills. As John wished, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Family and friends are invited to attend a reception in John's memory at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (4000 Portage Ave.) on Wednesday, July 16 at 2:30 pm. "Love Always" www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
