Doris was a vibrant, kind and caring woman. I will always remember her great cooking, especially her spaghetti. I would sneak a peek at the ingredients but still can't get it quite right. She used to call me "her other daughter" and I felt like it. Everyone who came into her home was made to feel welcome. Doris's children were everything to her. They were always first and foremost on her mind and her heart. And I can tell you she raised a good son - as loyal and honest as the day is long. She had great compassion for strangers as well as animals. Many an animal was saved and cared for by Doris. I am sure her cats are running over the rainbow bridge to see her. I have known Doris since I was a little girl. When Tony and Doris lived in the West End. At Tuxedo she still called me Karen and my late mother May and Gordon. I will remember Doris shopping at grant park. Always Mannell & Becker Family. - Posted by: Karen Mannell Becker (friend from the 1950) on: Jul 15, 2014
