Condolences & Memories (14 entries)

  • Gord.....the life and happiness of phase check at Air Canada. Thank-you for always making work a great time. Your energy, humour and personality were a gift to all. When Gord was around, everyone was laughing, fooling around and enjoying friendship with those around. Rest well my friend. - Posted by: Anil Sarkar (Coworker) on: Jul 20, 2014

  • I have worked with Gord in the military and at Air Canada. Through all that time no matter what the situation Gord would always have a smile on his face. Gord would just have to be around and whatever was going on everyone would calm down and the job would get done. Stacy you have lost your husband, and best friend. Gord will be deeply missed. My thoughts are with you and your family. - Posted by: Jack Baggs (Friend/co-worker) on: Jul 20, 2014

  • Although I only had the honor of knowing Gord for the last 18 years, he always made me feel like I was a life long friend. His dry wit and always present smile was infectious and will be dearly missed. Our time serving at 402 Squadron will always bring a smile to my face. Always the consummate professional while working, the "shenanigans" brewing at the back of your mind kept things fun and reminded us all to take time and enjoy life and those around us. Gord rest in peace my friend. See you on the other side. Stacy, Steve, and Brent my deepest condolences. - Posted by: Todd Keeney (Friend/Co-worker) on: Jul 20, 2014

  • Stacy, Steve and Brent, you have been in my thoughts for a while now and I have been a basket case all week thinking of how difficult it must be to lose your husband and the boys, their father. Know that I am just a phone call away or a very long drive and my home is always open. I was so happy to be able to spend time with you all in June and despite Gord’s illness, his infectious laugh and Gord style sense of humour was always there. I will deeply miss him. Not to be corny but I love this poem as it has always comforted me in my own losses and I hope that it does for you. With Love, Sandie & Dave Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away to the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, That, we still are. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effect. Without the trace of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same that it ever was. There is absolute unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you. For an interval. Somewhere. Very near. Just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before only better, infinitely happier and forever we will all be together.
