Condolences & Memories (14 entries)

  • I met Jim when I was 14.....got off of the school bus with Mike, walked in the door and they had me from that day forward. The aroma of Jim's famous cabbage, bacon and onions.....I was a lifer. Jim was more of a father to me than a father-in-law.....they don't make em like Jim....he was always happy and so helpful and extended the helpfulness to anyone who he could. I could not have handled the life of Mike gone on the road with the 3 beautiful kids we had without his help. Both Debbie and Jim were always there when we needed anything. Deb to pick up a few things we needed and Jim was always there as the best Hockey PaPa. The world will never be the same without you Jim and thank you for making me always feel like I fit. We love and miss you terribly and will strive to be even half the caring human you were to anyone and everyone. I LOVE YOU JIM XOXOXO - Posted by: Kelly (Daughter in Law) on: Aug 03, 2014

  • Debbie, Robbie, and Mike. So sorry to hear about your Dad (Jim). I have very fond memories of him. Which included visiting your house in St Adolphe as a kid, and sitting on your Dad's knee and his big chair when I'd come in to visit intermodal. He was there for me when things were rough with my Dad, and I appreciate that to this day. He holds a special place in my heart. Take care. • Our prayers and thoughts to Jim's family at this time. John and I both had the pleasure of working with Jim at CN. Jim always had a friendly greeting and a big smile and sometimes a joke or two for anyone who came into the office. He had this huge presence and personality about him. Jim will be sadly missed. • How do you paint the true picture of a life in just a few words? Kind, caring, compassionate, friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand just to name a few. Jim was a great neighbor and friend to have who will be sadly missed. Debbie, Rob, Mike, Kelly and family you have our deepest condolences and are in our thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Marc and Brenda Delorme (neighbor) on: Jul 16, 2014

  • I worked with Jim back in the early nineties at CN Intermodal. He was never anything but kind as I trained in the office as a clerk. He had a really quirky sense of humor and made everyone around him laugh. Through the years, I stopped by CN a few times and Jim always came out to say hello. He was a really decent person. Rest in peace, Jim. And to the family, please accept my heartfelt condolences. - Posted by: Laurel Chaykowski (Former co-worker) on: Jul 16, 2014
