LEO PAUL ALLARD November 26, 1922 - July 13, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Leo was born in the Devlin house in St. Laurent and is survived by his wife of 72 years, Cecilia; sons and daughters: Don (Terrie), Marleen (Orest), Lina (Rene), Gerald (Sheila), Carol (Richard), Roger (Sandra), Alvin (Judy), Barry (Linda), along with 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Alma Bruce, brothers Art (Marnie) and Jules (Doris). Predeceased by his sister Ruby Boucher, daughter Benita, and granddaughter Yvonne. Leo lived his life in St. Laurent with the last few years in Stonewall. Working hard everyday fishing, trapping, construction, all the while maintaining the family farm. He met the love of his life Cecilia in 1941 and they married in 1942 spending the next 72 years together being seldom apart. Above all else what he treasured the most was sharing special times with family and friends. Leo loved sports, passionately watching his Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. In 1948 he was instrumental with the St. Laurent baseball team winning the provincial league championship. He enjoyed gardening, tending his lawn, fixing whatever needed to be fixed, and watching and feeding his hummingbirds. Leo was known for his sense of humour, enjoying a good joke, especially when it was on someone else. One of Leo's greatest assets was his love of family. He took great pride in all of their accomplishments. Special thanks to Rosewood Lodge, and especially the staff at Stonewall Hospital. Cremation has taken place with a memorial service to be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 with rosary at 10:30 a.m. followed by funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow. May God care for him as he did for us MACKENZIE FUNERAL HOME STONEWALL 204-467-2525 mackhome@mts.net
