JOSEPH DUDA February 5, 1935 - July 14, 2014 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joe Duda at Goodwin Lodge, Teulon, Manitoba on the first anniversary of his wife Irene's death. Joe was also predeceased by his parents, sisters Marjorie McClure (Henry) and Pearl Davy (Frank). He is survived by his brother Bill of Teulon and his sister Adeline Angus (Art) of Winnipeg, as well as his nieces Valerie, Wendy, Cheryl, Karen and Colleen, and nephew Doug. Joe was the youngest of five children, born to John and Katie Duda (nee Solar). He began his early education in Sapton, Manitoba and completed it in Stonewall, Manitoba, when his parents sold the farm in Sapton and bought a farm north of Stonewall. Joe married Irene (nee Gemmell) in Regina in 1963. His early working years were spent as a lineman, stringing the wires on the hydro transmission towers in northern British Columbia, and later, in northern Manitoba. After a serious workplace accident in 1967, Joe and Irene began cattle farming just west of Inwood. After some 40 years, they sold the farm and retired to Teulon. The family would like to thank the staff of Goodwin Lodge for their compassionate care of Joe during his last years. Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be held at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, on Saturday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. Please meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Luncheon to follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre.
