Jim was a great gentleman, physician, and scientist who made an enormous contribution to paediatrics and biochemical genetics during the course of his long and productive career. Like everyone who knew him well, I was deeply saddened by the news of his death. - Posted by: Joe Clarke (Colleague, friend) on: Aug 13, 2014

I was greatly saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I have many very fond memories of him from numerous Garrod and other scientific and medical meetings. His extensive knowledge and experience as well as his kindness and wisdom were always inspiring. He was a true leader and elder statesman in the field of inborn errors of metabolism. All my thoughts and condolences are with his family. - Posted by: Patrick Ferreira (Colleague, Friend) on: Jul 22, 2014

Gentle Person with quiet sense of humour. I came to know and respect Jim when I was Newborn and later Inpatient Service Chief during his Headship of the Paediatric Department. He initially worked in the Community as a General Paediatrician. Although a Sub specialist I respected him as a great Clinician. - Posted by: Kantilal Rajani (Friend/Colleague) on: Jul 22, 2014

Dr Haworth was a very kind soul. With all his knowledge of rare metabolic disorders, he remained humble and willing to share whatever he knew. We worked together on many projects and I was amazed at his understanding of inborn errors of metabolism. I truly appreciate all that he has taught me. May his soul rest in peace. - Posted by: Chitra Prasad (He was a mentor and guide) on: Jul 20, 2014
