Laurie and I were very good friends for many many years, threw school and beyond. Once we were both married we found out we lived just down the street from one another. We enjoyed being pregnant together and she gave me a shower for my son. As years passed we lost track of each other. Now as I grow older I have been looking for my friends from school. I have found them all except for Laurie we all wondered were she was. For years I wondered what became of her, remembering the times we had together. One day I found her mothers obit in the paper, again I searched for her. Now with the greatest sadness I find her. Not knowing of her battle, I deeply regret not being and knowing her and her family. I send my deepest condolences to the family. Rest peacefully my dear friend. - Posted by: Christine (OPITZ) Taras (Junor High and High School Friend) on: Aug 23, 2014

Laurie was part of our Pilates family for the past five years; meeting every Thursday at 4:30. She worked so hard in every class and never expected special treatment. When we resume classes in September she will be dearly missed by "the gang". Sleep well Laurie. - Posted by: Alan Cherniak (Laurie's Pilates Instructor) on: Jul 21, 2014

Although we grieve your loss Laurie, it makes us realize the importance of your life. The gifts you gave while you lived. Your integrity, compassion, courage and sacrifice that enriched, empowered and encouraged others. All of us that loved you feel a deep loss now that you're gone, but the wonderful memories we have will be treasured for all eternity. Spid, my brother, always called his girls, "My special pews". We have lost one of those specials. Laurie is now looking down on us. - Posted by: Donald Churches (Uncle) on: Jul 18, 2014
