Originally from Bournemouth, England, as a young woman Phyllis worked as a training supervisor at the telephone exchange and later in Ottawa with Statistics Canada. Surviving the Battle of Britain, she met Canadian soldier Minor Tennant. They would spend the next 67 years together living in England, France, and throughout Canada, raising son David and daughter Pamela, both of whom loved her dearly. Phyllis had a special place in her heart for grandson Mitchell and granddaughter Emma, of whom she was so very proud. She possessed a quick wit, a magical touch in the garden, and pie crust that was unrivalled. Lovingly remembered by sister Marjorie Jones, and brother Leslie Burden of England, as well as son-in-law Reg Sherren. Predeceased by parents John and Ella Burden, sister Ella Barker, as well as baby son Jeffrey Paul. Minor and family wish to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital, Ward 3 South, and especially Doctors Joshua and George for their compassionate attention and professional care. A donation in Phyllis' memory may be made to The War Amps of Canada. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715
