JOSE MANUEL PEDREIRA June 1, 1965 - July 14, 2014 Suddenly and unexpectedly, Jose Manuel Goncalves Pedreira has left this world. Joe was born in Portugal and came to Canada when he was five years old. He was always a very vibrant and life loving person filled with an energy that will be greatly missed. Joe was a carpenter by trade and has left his thumbprint on many projects in the city including the MTS Centre, Manitoba Hydro Building, Canadian Museum for Human Rights and the Disraeli Bridge. His greatest joy in life was his family and his children. He was always there teaching, guiding and loving them. Cooking was one of his passions and his delicious meals "made with love" will be especially missed during the holidays. He had a soul that could not be duplicated and our hearts will carry a part of that with us now. He is predeceased by his grandparents Jose and Maria Goncalves and his father Antonio Pedreira. Left to mourn is his high school sweetheart and wife of 23 years Heather, sons Alexander and Jakob and daughter Jessica, mother Julia Goncalves (Manuel), brothers Joe and Tony (Laurie), in-laws Lorna and Douglas Jones, sister-in-law Cindy, nieces Brittany, Karli, Haley, Emily and nephew Riley. Gone too soon but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers a trust fund has been set up for Joe's children. The Alexander, Jakob and Jessica Pedreira Trust, donations can be accepted at any Cambrian Credit Union. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

  • My dad was a one of a kind guy, I will miss his funny jokes and his childhood stories at the dinner table. His love never ran out, he always gave his best in his hobbies and his job. When kids say "My dad is the best dad in the whole world" they were wrong because that spot was already taken by my dad, but now they can say that their dad is the best because the best one is gone. We love you dad and you will be truly missed. XOXO - Posted by: Jessica Pedreira (Daughter) on: Jul 28, 2014

  • I was so saddened to hear about Joe. Even though I have not seen him for 20+ years, I clearly remember his positive spirit and his apparent love of life. He was always smiling and always made you feel happy. The love Joe and Heather had for each other was so apparent in our high school years. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Joe's family and especially to Heather and their children. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
