MABEL TRIGGS (nee BERFT) November 2, 1923 - July 21, 2014 Mae passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital on July 21, 2014 at the age of 90. Mae leaves to celebrate her life, daughter Wendy, son-in-law Ted, Richard and Merrilee, sister Emily, brothers August (Ruth) and Norman (Violet). She will be remembered by her nephews and nieces, special friends Larry, Wally and Millie, Shavey; in-laws, and many who loved her. Mae was predeceased by her husband, George, and daughter Bonnie in 1986. Mom lived life to the fullest. She gave her time freely to brighten the days for others with music and song. For over 25 years, Mae was part of musical groups who entertained at personal care homes, hospitals, senior centres, country music festivals in Altona, Morden Corn and Apple, Cripple Creek, Festival du Voyageur, and the International Peace Gardens. Mae also knit hundreds of mittens, scarves and quilted afghans for those less fortunate. She received special honours from the province and various groups for her volunteer work at Seniors' Homes and the Canadian Blind Organization. Memorial service on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, with inurnment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff of N3 Ward at Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
