GLEN STANLEY BRABANT September 30, 1961 - July 22, 2014 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Glen Stanley Brabant on July 22, 2014. Glen will be deeply missed by his wife Wendy; son Timothy; brother Greg (Chris), sisters Susan (Ron) Mamchuk; Diane (Ken) Cranston; Kathy (Marc) McKay; Judy (Bob) Moir; in-laws Walter and Stephie Bezpalko, brother-in-law Edward (Paula) Bezpalko; many nieces and nephews - Claire, Karen (Dennis), Kevin (Amber), Meghan (Jamie), Leah (Michael), Collin (Charlene) Andrew, Allison (Drew), Michelle (Blair) Lorena, Nicole, Andrew (Whitney), Tyler, Olivia and Emily as well as great-nieces and nephews - Brynna, Wyatt, Axel, Nora, Everett, Carys, Henry, Jack, Kane, and Kiera. Glen was predeceased by his parents George in 2001, mother Colleen in 2014, brother Gary in 2012 and great-nephew Oliver in 2013. Glen was an amazing man and father. Always helping anyone who needed help, he was the one everyone could rely on. A familiar face at all of Timothy's games, his greatest joy was watching his son and cheering him on. His final legacy of giving was being an organ donor and being the first donor in a new program being developed at Health Science Centre. Our family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service, the staff at the Concordia Emergency and ICU department, The Health Science Center ICU unit, a special thank you to nurse Debra ( HSC ICU) and Reverend Amous Fehr and the Organ Donation staff for all your compassion during our time of grief. Service will be held at the Winakwa Community Center, 980 Winakwa Road, on Friday July 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Amos Fehr presiding. Reception to follow. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, donations can be made to the Health Sciences Centre Foundation MS107 - 820 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3A 1R9 or to the Winakwa Community Center 980 Winakwa Road, Winnipeg MB R2J 1E7. Condolences & Memories (20 entries)

  • We are so saddened to hear about the passing of our wonderful neighbour. Our back yards face each other and Glen was always out doors. Whether he was cutting grass, fixing the play structure or setting up the pool for Timmy. He always made time to say hi and chat with you. He was so proud of son and talked of him often. Whenever we needed help with anything, Glen was always so helpful. We are sure going to miss his smiley face! We pray that Wendy & Timmy will find strength in knowing how much Glen loved them. Please know if we can help you with anything we are just a shout away. RIP Glen and we know you & Jordy will be JTRQYHwatching over all of us. Love your neighbors! • Glen was a great Dad and Tim's greatest supporter. I loved his sense of humour and easy going nature. He took my son to many games for me when I was unable to make the early games - I always knew my son, Keenan, was in good hands with him. I liked sitting beside him in the stands and he always moved over to make room to cheer on the boys - I miss him at the games this year but know he will stil be keeping an eye the games!! We will miss you Glen!! - Posted by: Cindy Smith (a fellow parent at the kids sports) on: Jul 25, 2014

  • Deepest condolences to the Brabant family. Glenn will be missed for his kind, calm ways not to mention his "jack of all trades" and can do it attitude. He was a helping hand to all he met. His time came far too young, his deeds in life will always be fondly remembered by many. Rip buddy. - Posted by: Henry Garvey (Family friend) on: Jul 25, 2014

  • Glen, you've blessed us with many good times and good memories over the years. Your infectious laugh, that boyish grin, and the mischief that came with it. Although you are now in a greater place, you leave us some legendary quotes attributed to your shenanigans: "I stopped pounding them an hour ago." "don't play the big boy with me" or my personal favourites: "you red-headed screeching witch" and "that's my fishing rod its got a piece of tape on it." Of course none of these statements may make any sense to anyone. But to your many friends and cohorts, it will always bring a smile and story we will share when we gather. You were a great husband, father and friend Glen. We will miss you dearly, but remember you fondly. - Posted by: Kelly and Irene Langevin (friends) on: Jul 25, 2014

  • Glen came to my aid when I had no heat, when I had a flat tire, and he always had a smile and a friendly hello when I came to see Wendy ... he was never grumpy, never stand-offish, and always was ready to participate and lend a helping hand where it was needed. He was a wonderful person and will sorely be missed by his family and all that knew him. I wish he was still here. - Posted by: june galaugher (friend) on: Jul 25, 2014

  • I first met Glen as Tim's coach. Glen was unique as a player's parent as he truly understood that it wasn't about wins and losses but about developing kid's character and potential for later in life. Rest well Glen and take pride in knowing that all you were, Tim has become. - Posted by: Rick Lemoine and family (Friends) on: Jul 24, 2014

  • Glen was a great guy and a friend to all. I remember the times he and Greg visited Fisher Branch and had such a great time with Walter I'm sure Walter was there to meet him in Heaven and I pray that Wendy and son Tim will never forget his laugh and smile and all the good times that they had. Memories are never lost. My deepest sympathy to all the family- June Kopys - Posted by: June Kopys (Friend) on: Jul 24, 2014

  • Glen was always there for All kids, not only did he take his own son but he often piled 2 or 4 more kids in his van. When my son would say "Tim's dad is driving" I was assured all the kids were in the best hands. Our community has lost a great man. He will be sadly missed. - Posted by: monique korsch (friend) on: Jul 24, 2014
